Bonnie Kastin, RD,CNSD

Bonnie Kastin received her Bachelors of Science degree in Dietetics from Indiana University and completed a dietetic internship at Indiana University Medical Center. She currently holds a certificate in adult weight management and is pursuing board certification in obesity and weight management. She specializes in weight management, with an interest in obesity and adult nutrition. She has worked as an inpatient clinical dietitian at Northwestern University Medical Center focusing on medical nutrition therapy and advanced nutrition support. She now enjoys working in the outpatient setting where she has the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with her patients. Bonnie is focused on counseling patients on a variety of therapeutic diets and lifestyle modifications. With over 23 years of experience in the field, she has seen how nutrition has evolved to focus on positive healthy lifestyle changes and less on ‘dieting’. Her goal is to help patients nurture a healthier relationship with food and improve their overall well-being. Bonnie is committed to working with and supporting individuals to help them achieve nutrition goals based on their unique lifestyle and their emotional needs in order to promote optimal health and wellness. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, playing pickleball, tennis and canasta with friends. She is also an avid Chicago sports fan!

Fun Facts about Bonnie

  • One condiment she has to have in her kitchen: Mustard! Mustard provides a ton of flavor to foods while being low in calories, fat, and sodium.
  • Favorite breakfast: Either an egg white omelet with veggies and turkey sausage or avocado toast depending on the day!
  • Favorite family vacation: Jackson Hole Wyoming. We had a great time being together while white water rafting, seeing Yellowstone National Park and hiking in an absolutely beautiful setting of the Grand Teton Mountains.
  • Favorite movie genre: Rom-com or a feel good sports movie.
